To close our our month-long Cidermaker Series, we have Seth Boeve, our head cidermaker. Seth's been with Virtue nearly six years. He's another one in our cidermaking team who started brewing beer; and for his part, locally. "I grew up just 30 minutes away from Virtue and have always resided in West Michigan. Before my career in the craft beverage industry I held several different production positions while working my way through college."
While under Seth's direction, Virtue has amassed more than 40 medals for our ciders.
"I love being able to take an idea or concept from start to finish. I love being able to source the fruit that we want and create something beautiful that we can share with people directly. I love being able to take pride in the product we make, and then being able to take to people about it and share that experience."
Seth couldn't choose just one of our ciders as his favorite, so he narrowed it down to five: Lapinette, Ledbury, Wyncroft, Redstreak, and Fennville Rosé 2014.
Cheers to Seth for leading our team toward make amazing cider using all local fruit! If you see Seth during a tour, be sure to ask him about our barrel-aging program. You can read a bit more about why we says "our barrels are magic" here: https://www.ciderculture.com/barrel-aging-virtue-seth-boeve/
